Dia de la Madre , Guatemala

One Guatemalan mother, and her child, both deeply loved by our family~ Mildred and Maria

Hola friends of Mayan Families,

A mother's work is never done. This couldn't be truer for many of the indigenous women here in Guatemala who wash clothes by hand, grind corn, collect and chop firewood, carry water long distances often while carrying a baby on their back.
In addition to these difficulties the cost of the price of living has increased in Guatemala over the recent months which has radically impacted the community, making daily life even harder for already struggling families.
All mother's want the same thing for their children; to be healthy, well fed and happy.
Sadly many mothers in Guatemala are unable to give this to their children.
Please consider giving a Mother's Day Basket that is full of nutritious food.
You can give this basket to a family for just $30.US.
A Mayan Families basket will include:
Each basket will include the following items:
Roast Chicken,
Oatmeal,
Pasta,
Rice,
Coffee,
Black beans,
Oil,
Carrots,
Bananas,
Pineapple,
Incaprina (a nutritious, high fibre local beverage),
and all goods will be packaged in a multipurpose, reusable plastic basket.
We hope that this Mother's Day you can assist us in supporting and honoring a Mother in the Guatemalan Highlands.
If you would like to donate this gift in honor of a special mother - we will be happy to announce this on our website.
We thank you for your continued support. To pay for your Mother's Day Basket please go to www.mayanfamilies.org and send $30 US through Paypal to the Mayan Families Food & Milk Program.
