Thursday, May 8th, 2008 was a National Day of Prayer for the Orphans of Guatemala. Please read on the link to the Wheeler's Blog and continue to keep the children of Guatemala who have families waiting to bring them home in your prayers. Please join our family in prayer for the children who are still waiting for families while changes in the adoption system are implemented. The officials overseeing adoptions in both the US and Guatemala, need to be accountable to a system that will protect the children and families from the cruel and heartless corruptions that has been allowed in recent years.
Our family has fallen victim to this during the past two and a half years and we never want to see another family go through what we have endured. We especially do not want to see any more children suffer like the ones we love in Guatemala. We are thankful that one of our referrals is back in the arms of her mother today, but we are still heartbroken for the first child we fell in love with there. She is 10 years old now and still sits in an orphanage with no family and no future as far as we know. We hope that God will send a family to call her their daughter, very soon. She is a most deserving child who has truly suffered the loss of her family in Guatemala. She has also fallen victim to the adoption system there. It is our prayers that she will be part of a Christian family one day. We hope the new system will allow waiting children to find homes again very, very soon. This is am important call to prayer for anyone, anywhere who loves and serves God, and who loves and cares for children!
