Jillian update --thankfully, she is doing OK... more of the same - she is tired of laying around this house, but she is hanging in there and trying to rest as much as she can. She feels like she is best friends with Samantha from the travel channel, and she is planning some pretty nice trips in her future. Samantha has been to some places, Jill thinks she MUST see in person one day! Australia is definitely the first place she wants go visit, and now that she has enjoyed SO much time watching shows about this huge continent, she is captivated by the beauty there. She keeps reminding me that she already has a passport, and thinks a job with the travel channel sounds great! - Don't worry, I'm not letting her out of my sight any time soon, possibly not ever!
Her pain is better, but she still has to be very careful about even the simplest movement. She will probably have headaches, neck and back pain for a long time. Her belly is still a problem for her, but that will get better in a few months we hope. She goes back to the Dr. in a few weeks, and that will give us a lot more information on her healing progress. Until then, she can't really do the normal things she is use to and that is about to drive her crazy! She feels better for a few hours and we have let her go out and see friends once or twice. But she is not up to much yet, and fatigue sets in really fast. She sees that she is just not able to keep her pace. She knows she has to keep taking it easy for quite a while longer.
We are worried about her happiness level. Her emotions are as important to us an her physical healing. The entire accident has weighed heavy on her heart and she keeps telling us how sorry she is that it happened. We know, it could not be avoided, that's what 'accidents' are, and she needs to let that burden off her shoulders. But, that's not Jill. She is a nurturing, caring person, who worries about how things effect those she loves, and not so much about her self. We want her to find a calm place in her heart and let her emotions heal along with her body. We want her to accept that she must take this time to recover, and not let it make her feel like life is passing her by. There is nothing, that can't wait a few months!! I never expeted this to be easy on her, but she is a strong girl, and we know she'll be fine.
Again, I will say how very thankful we are for Jillian's life to have been protected and we continue to ask you all to join us in prayers for her complete healing, (body, mind, and spirit). She is doing as well as we could ever wish for at this point, and we are all committed to seeing her through this unfortunate situation that has touched our family. I have truly seen the blessing of Jill's siblings rallying around her. She loves and cares for each of them so much and they have truly given that back to her in so many ways. We are so proud of all of them for lending a hand in Jill's recovery and keeping her laughs and beautiful smile alive for all of us to enjoy everyday now!
Thank you for your kind words and prayers for our family,
Betsy

Just checking in ...... always praying....
What would we do without our parents!! Over the last several weeks - Murphy moved in and doesn't seem to be leaving anytime soon - parents to the rescue - when my mother leaves - all of my laundry is always done - how she does it, I will never understand! (I do remind myself that she only had ONE - one with no special needs(well, I'm sure I have plenty .....), no life threatening illnesses - our lives as mothers are completley different, but she still takes care of her girl :).
Love you guys lots!
