Burton gone ~ Jillian on the way home

Burton is gone for a few days...over the mountains, through the woods... but not to grandma's house...to the Ocoee River. He's gone to enjoy the 'rush of the rapids', and some good food, and great music in Cleveland, TN. He loves white water any day of the week, and his name was in the hat for a guy trip planned last week. Our house is quiet, and he's having fun...so all is well. (pic-Quest Expedition, if you're going, call them.)

Jill just called, and they are on the way home. She was up at 5am packing and loading the buses, so she'll certainly be ready for her own soft bed and clean shower by tonight. She said they had a good trip. They enjoyed the French Market, Jackson Square, and ate way to many of those classic Beignets at Cafe'Du Monde. She has probably seen, and no doubt heard, more than I would have liked her to on this trip! It is New Orleans, after all, but at least she has has a good reminder of how blessed she really is. I hope all the kids on this trip return home with a new appreciation for the lives they have, and with a strong sense of knowing that they really did help someone who really did need it. Painting walls, working on drywall, swatting bugs, and picking up sticks and debris in 95* and total humidity, can actually change ones prospective on life, I hope in a lasting, and impacting way!
