Trip up-date (late)

Here is a late night update on Burton and Leslie...they just hit Steam Boat Springs, CO, they are in wet snow and have seen hundreds of deer and tons of elk since leaving Utah. (Those size critters, make for very dangerous driving conditions.) They once counted over 50 deer in under 3 minutes! They needed gas and saw a sign that said 57 miles until next gas station...drove the 57 miles, and it was closed! They went 200 miles and saw no law enforcement (Burt driving way faster than she should have been), then Leslie took the wheel and saw a state trooper in the next 5 miles!! Whoo! Leslie said it is a very beautiful area, a bit strange and very poor in some spots, then all of the sudden...you see lavish resorts.
They are at least 3 hours from Denver, but will finally get on an interstate in the next half hour, and will look for a regular hotel to rest over night. If they don't find one, they will just keep going to Denver. I'll update in the morning when I hear from them. Please keep them in your prayers, they are getting tired now and the deer are a real problem. Driving through the mountains has been very stressful, but they are glad they have been able to see this part of the WEST!!
